Both white and red hawthorn are related and very similar, both species are equally medicinal and equally applied.
Preparation steps

The flowers, preferably white, are picked in buds or just before opening. The time to pick the flowers is between April and June. They are dried in the shade in thin layers in the air, and the fruits are picked in autumn (September-October) and dried spread on a sheet for a week in a warm room and then dried in an oven at 40 ° C. Hawthorn helps with diarrhea in children, colon weakness, various heart diseases, calcification of the heart, inflamed and dilated heart, inflammation of the heart muscle, heart valves, poor blood circulation in a weakened heart,, treats insomnia by causing a rush of blood to the brain, normalizes both high and low blood pressure, treats nerve diseases; irritability tension, insomnia, relieves menopausal disorders and senile disorders. With the following recipes, the cure lasts at least 4 weeks, but with prolonged use, disorders of the stomach or intestines may occur. l boiling water; cook for 15-20 minutes on low heat. The tea is strained and very warm is drunk during the day. ♥ Č A J 2 3 tablespoons of ground dried fruit is placed in 1 l of lukewarm water, left for at least 12 hours, strained and sweetened as desired, preferably with natural honey. Sweeten with honey and drink 2-3 cups a day. ♥ TINCTURE Fill the bottle with hawthorn berries and pour over good brandy and leave for 6-8 weeks in the sun or in a warm room. take 15 drops 3 times a day, 15 minutes before main meals. This is an excellent remedy against gout, white wash, kidney stones, but also against other listed diseases. ♥ LIQUEUR The fruits are ground and placed in a glass bottle with a wide opening and poured with brandy. To 2 l of this mixture, 20-30 lemon balm leaves are added because they give the liqueur a special aroma. The bottle is closed and placed in the sun for at least 8 weeks. the contents are then strained and sweetened to taste with natural honey and diluted with red wine. Drink 1 small glass of this especially delicious liqueur before each meal. ♥ MARMELAD Beaten fresh ripe hawthorn fruits are placed in red wine and left to stand for 1 day. Strain well by squeezing through gauze. Add brown sugar before dissolving it in a little water. Boil to the desired density over low heat and finally add a little lemon juice. ♥ Put hawthorn syrup 1 kilogram of hawthorn berries in a blender, pour 2 fingers of water over the berries. Grind and leave for 24 hours. When it starts to boil over a low heat, let it simmer for 1/2 hour. Turn off the heat and let it stand for another 1/2 hour. Strain the liquid and when it cools down, put it in the fridge. Blend the berries, add new water. Then cook them again for 1/2 hour and let them stand for another 1/2 hour. Strain well through gauze to make it as thick as possible. Mix this juice before squeezing, then simmer it over low heat until 1/4 of the mixture remains.
