Halloween soup
The Celts believed that on this day the souls of the dead pass to another world. That night the Celts lit fires to help stray souls find their way, and to appease ghosts and witches that night they brought gifts in the form of food and drink. After the advent of Christianity, the celebration of the Celtic New Year and their original customs changed somewhat, but the tradition of celebrating Halloween remained.
Preparation steps
- Carefully dig out the pumpkin. Separate the meat from the seeds and cut into smaller cubes. Peel the garlic and chop. Peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes. Put garlic in a little olive oil to fry lightly, add potatoes and pumpkin. Simmer gently while adding water. Instead of water, ready-made vegetable soup can be added. When everything softens, mix with a stick mixer. Add salt, pepper and a little Vegeta.
- Serve in a hollowed-out pumpkin. A little sour cream or cooking cream can be added to the finished soup for decoration. Serve with toasted bread cubes.
Serving
Pour the finished soup into the hollowed out pumpkin and serve. Serve toasted bread cubes or toast with the soup.
