Hadži - Zulfin Mostar stew

I am proud of my friends;) Not because I call them friends, but because they really are. Immeasurably sincere, cordial, sociable and optimistic ... Always there, for joy, companionship, sharing good and evil .. I received the recipe "with great difficulty" from my neighbor Meraklija, a man who dedicated his whole life to friends, good food and good company ... A man, for whom today is a special day, a day that he and all of us who love him will remember;);););) Bujrum;);)

Preparation steps

  • Mix the chopped vegetables, add the rice and season with salt, pepper and red pepper. Arrange in a baking tray or pan and cover with very little water. Add the water gradually, so that it is not too thin.
  • Arrange the chicken or any other meat you have prepared on top of the vegetables and add a cube of butter to each piece.
  • Bake at a temperature of about 180 degrees with the occasional addition of water. The food must not float in the water, otherwise it will turn into a cash register. (Believe me, tried;) Towards the end, increase the temperature so that the meat turns nicely brown;)

Serving

This is one of our "friendly" versions of Herzegovinian stew, which is most often prepared with beef.
