Greta garbo cake

It is a real "heavy" walnut cake, enhanced by the taste of caramelized sugar and a lot of chocolate ..... Here is the recipe ....

Preparation steps

  • Peels: mix egg whites and sugar, then add flour and ground walnuts, stirring lightly with a spoon. From that, bake 3 crusts in a small pan or 1 crust in a large oven pan. That's how I worked.
  • Put the oven at a lighter temperature of about 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Everything again depends on the oven. When the crust is baked, leave it to cool and then cut it into 3 parts
  • 1st coat: Put the sugar on the "fire" to melt and when it has become brown / caramel / color add butter to it and mix briefly until it becomes a liquid caramel mass.
  • Now with this hot mass thinly, thinly coat the crust. You don't even have to spend everything. The coating must not be thick, because it will not be possible to cut beautiful slices of cake. Since this caramel shrinks very quickly, I stabbed it with a knife as soon as it hardened so that the caramel crust would crack a little, all for the purpose of better cutting the cake!
  • 2nd coat: Make a glaze from chocolate and butter and when the glaze cools down a bit, spread it on all three crusts over that caramel. Leave to tighten ...
  • F and l: Steam the egg yolks, sugar and milk until it thickens. Add the prepared butter to the cooled mixture and mix everything well together.
  • Then all three crusts are smeared with the filling, on which there is already spinach sugar and chocolate glaze.
  • The filling has enough that the whole cake can be richly spread. Decorate the cake as desired and possible.
  • I didn't use all the caramel to coat the crust, so I poured it into a plate and when it hardened, I chopped it into a grill. I sprinkled grilled bread on the cake.

Serving

The cake is delicious and very fine.
