Green walnut liqueur

Our ancestors adored green walnut liqueur. Extremely rich in iodine, so it is known as a direct cure for thyroid diseases

Preparation steps

  • Harvest very young green walnuts, about 1-2 cm in size, wash, dry, then cut the smaller fruits, and halve the larger ones. Put rubber gloves on your hands and cut the walnuts. Put walnuts and 1 kg of sugar in a larger jar (maybe the same amount of honey), stir, then pour brandy over it. Close the jar and put it in a sunny place to stand for 40 days. During this time, stir the contents daily, until all the sugar has melted.
  • After 40 days, remove the jar from the sun, then strain the liquid through gauze and pour into glass bottles. Seal well and leave in a dark and cool place for about two months for the liqueur to "mature", ie, get its full aroma.

Serving

Before serving, shake the walnut slightly to raise the healing precipitate.
