Grandma's plum jam
A good old recipe from my grandmother Ivana ...
Preparation steps
- Wash the plums, drain and remove the stones. Mix sugar and vanilla sugar.
- In a larger bowl, in which the jam will be cooked, put a row of plums, a row of sugar.
- Put in the fridge overnight to stand.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- After about 30 minutes, when the plums soften, chop them with a stick mixer. If you prefer pieces of fruit in jam, you can skip this step.
- After a total of an hour and a half of cooking, when the jam thickens slightly, add sliced lemon to thicker slices. Cook for about 15 minutes and add rum.
- During this time, wash the jars and place them at the lowest temp. in the oven to warm up.
- After 2 hours of cooking, grab the jam with a small spoon and leave for 5 minutes to cool on the side. If the jam is thick enough afterwards, remove the lemon pieces and remove from the heat.
- Pour the jam into warm jars and allow to cool completely before covering. Good apetite :)
