Gambaloci
Pumpkin seed oil gives a special charm to corn gnocchi with an interesting name. They are usually eaten for breakfast, but we also recommend them as a side dish for lunch.
Preparation steps
- Steam the corn flour with a little boiling water, add rye flour, salt and knead the hard dough with water.
- Roll out the dough a finger thick, then cut it into cubes.
- Cook the dough cubes prepared in this way in salted boiling water for about 15 minutes.
- Fry the chopped onion briefly in pumpkin oil and pour over the cooked dough.
Serving
This old and delicious Podravina dish was most often served for breakfast.
Advice
If desired, you can shape the dough into small rolls and cut them like gnocchi.
