Friesian cake
Friesland is a northern German province. The climate is not the most favorable: winds, which are constantly blowing, rain, cold. This is probably why this cake fantasy was created: to warm the hearts and souls of the wonderful people who live there.
Preparation steps
- Wash the plum filling, remove the stones and cut them into cubes. Put plums, sugar, Steranis (see picture), cinnamon stick in the sherpa and cook on medium heat for about 5 minutes. Mix the starch flour with three tablespoons of water, add to the plums and let it boil. Allow to cool.
- Crust Knead a smooth dough of 250 g of flour, baking powder, salt on top of a knife, vanilla sugar, milerama and 175 g of butter. Leave in the cold for about 2 hours. Crumbs Make a dough from the rest of the flour, sugar, cinnamon and the rest of the butter and crumble with your hands. Put in the cold until use.
- Preheat the oven to 200 C (fan 180). Divide the dough into four parts. Spread each on floured baking paper, then surround with that cake ring to be exactly 24 cm in diameter (I have a ring with a cm drawn).
- Sprinkle with crumbs and bake. Bake each crust for about 13 minutes. Cut one crust still warm into 12 pieces. I forgot to cut it, so I had problems with serving :)) Cool them.
- Cut the vanilla with a sharp knife and remove the marrow. Whip the whipped cream firmly with the vanilla. You can use a whipping cream hardener — I didn’t. Put a ring around the cake and arrange: plum crust - chopped walnuts - whipped cream, crust - walnut filling - whipped cream. Finally, sprinkle the crust with plenty of powdered sugar. To enjoy!!
