Rosa Cooking

Fried roses

I have been preparing to make these fried roses for a long time, according to a recipe taken from a magazine many years ago, and today I finally made them. It’s a very tasty crunchy cookie, which basically reminds me of something similar to what my mother-in-law made under the name - “fanjki”. But these roses are more demanding, so they need a little more effort and time. If you like them, the recipe is here so play around in your kitchens ……

Preparation steps

  • Knead a crispy dough from flour, egg yolk, sugar, rum and cream
  • Leave it to stand for a short time in the refrigerator and then roll it out and cut it into squares in three different sizes
  • Cut the corners of the square diagonally and fold. Spread egg white in the middle of the largest square, then place a smaller square on it, and in the same way connect the third, smallest square and press everything a little with your finger.
  • The squares connected in this way, now in the shape of roses, are fried in oil and placed on grease-absorbing paper. Sprinkle the cooled roses with sugar and put a little jam of your choice in the middle of each and serve
