Flax and sesame tiles
I often want to nibble on something light, which will delay hunger until the next meal ... but how about being healthy at the same time? I decided to check if you can get a mass suitable for light, salty tiles from two or three ingredients ... No eggs, no butter and margarine, no milk ... Flax and sesame, rich in healthy fats (which most of us eat too little) , in addition they are an excellent source of the most important minerals.
Preparation steps
- Put flax seeds in a bowl, pour water over them and leave them to absorb water for 1 hour and swell. The water level in the pot should be just above the flax seeds.
- Bake the sesame seeds for ten minutes in a dry pan, until it turns yellow and develops an aroma. Then put it in a blender and grind. When the sesame is completely chopped, add the prepared flax, salt and a little oil, and blend everything well. The mixture will be quite firm.
- Turn the oven to 160 C. Place the baking paper on a large baking tray and spread the mixture as thinly as you can.
- Immediately cut the mass into tiles of any size with a knife, then place in the oven. Bake for about 15 minutes, then lower the temperature a bit and dry for another twenty minutes (I turned on the fans at the end).
- The tiles are ready when dry and easily separated from the paper. You can leave them to cool in a half-open oven.
Serving
They are ideal as a light snack, addition to yogurt or with your favorite spread and salad. They don't look like buying bars, which are a real calorie bomb, these are in the role of appetite control. The recipe is subject to change, so I plan to try some more combinations ...
