Flameri Grič
The Czech recipe for a wheat semolina dessert has climbed to Zagreb's Grič. Semolina and fruit toppings, which are usually served, will make them especially interesting for children, which you can cheer them up for Sunday breakfast.
Preparation steps
- Mix the cream and water in a suitable bowl and bring to the boil. Then add the semolina, almonds, lemon zest, sugar and cook for 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Add egg whites to the still hot mixture. Place the mixture in a cup or suitable molds, previously rinsed with cold water, and leave to cool.
- Preparing the topping: Peel the plums and mix with the sugar. Melt the butter, add the plums and simmer for 3-4 minutes.
- Finally add the allspice, red wine and cool.
Serving
Pour the cooled flamingos onto plates, sprinkle with a mixture of cinnamon and a little sugar if desired, and serve with plum topping.
Advice
You can replace the plum dressing with cherry filling, which you heat up slightly with the addition of red wine.
