Figs in rum
I got a larger quantity of figs and since we couldn't eat them all, I decided to save them for later (they won't wait for winter, I guess that's clear to everyone).
Preparation steps
- Add water with sugar and vanilla. When it boils, reduce the temperature and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Add the well-washed figs and heat for another 4 minutes, making sure they don’t boil too much.
- Arrange the figs in jars. Add an equal amount of rum to the syrup in which they were cooked and pour over the figs. Close the jars immediately.
- Store in a dark and cool place. Let it stand for at least 4 weeks before consuming.
