English Sösterkage
A fine, juicy, aromatic cake that is great with coffee or tea salt.
Preparation steps
- Mix butter and sugar until you get a frothy and light mass. Add one egg at a time and mix well at a higher mixer speed behind each added egg to even the mixture well. Add sifted flour, vanilla sugar and brown baking powder, alternating with milk. Finally, mix in the coriander and pour the mixture into a long, narrow mold (volume 2 l) which you coat with butter and sprinkle with flour.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180 * C, about 55 - 60 min. If the stake starts to darken and is not finished yet, cover with baking paper. Remove the stake from the mold and cool on a wire rack.
- If you can't buy a brown baking powder, you can make it yourself from these ingredients: - 8 g baking powder - 2 g cinnamon - 2 g cloves - 2 g ginger - 2 g allspice The spices are finely ground. Recipe with brown burst baking wrapper.
Serving
I also added two grated apples to the cake, because it will be even juicier a day or two later. If you want, you can also add dried raisins and a handful of nuts with coarsely ground fruits.
