Elderberry jelly with lavender and rose
This is an idea from Pinterest, it was an inspiration for me to use homemade elderberry juice, lavender and roses that are now blooming ... preserving the smells and tastes in this jelly is not difficult, see for yourself ..
Preparation steps
- To begin with, wash the eggs, make a hole in them and let the contents drain. Then wash them well inside and dry them. Or use silicone molds. picture be the cover and everything else is the same.So I worked yesterday jelly and today with the addition of wild strawberries and without any color except elderberry juice. The taste is exactly the same.Wash a couple of lavender flowers and a few rose petals (everything must be without chemical treatment) .Dilute elderberry syrup with water in the ratio as you like to drink or sweeter (I will write the ratio I used)
- Put the juice on the fire together with lavender and rose and when it boils for a few minutes, remove the flowers from the liquid. Put the gelling agent in the juice, I used jelly and you can also use pure pectin and gelatin. At the very end of cooking I put one cherry to let a little color.Otherwise in the pictures I studied you can see various edible flowers in transparent jelly. And I like the food to taste and when using elderberry juice you get a completely dull color.I thought a speck of pink was a better option.
- Put lavender and rose flowers at random in the prepared eggs and pour the boiled jelly with a spoon. Let it remain empty in the eggs for about cm. When the jellies are squeezed, peel the eggs and serve. Maybe it would be interesting with fruit for children and for adults it is a good option with a little alcohol. Don't overdo it with lavender, so that it doesn't look like you're eating soap :) If the bottom of your "egg" is uneven, cut it straight. is completely uneven for me, but not everything has to be perfect.
