Egyptian ma'mul

Another in a series of my tea cookies.

Preparation steps

  • Dissolve the germ in warm water. Knead the flour, baking powder, melted butter, egg, milk, sesame and germ until you get a smooth dough.
  • Make walnut-sized balls and fill them with rahat lokum. I used this Turkish, with figs (they are smaller and I didn't need to chop them).
  • Bake at 180C for about 40-45 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar when cooled.

Bun with fenugreek

You ordered buns with fenugreek at the restaurant - don't return the dish just because there is no meat in it. You already understand, buns with fenugreek are something completely different from buns with burgers and worth giving them a chance.

Cheese salad

Cheese salad

Salad with cheese and cucumbers is a perfect departure from the usual summer combinations. Fresh soft cheeses such as cow's, ricotta or cottage cheese are ideal for preparation. Serve with corn or whole grain bread.

Fish with apples

Whoever sees apples in a salty meat combination only with pork, turkey and chicken, is grossly mistaken. The Egyptians realized that apples were made to measure for cod and white fish, so they combined them with vegetables and yogurt.

Honey and coriander drink

The famous Egyptian drink lowers high Egyptian summer temperatures and helps digestion. Make sure it is effective at our temperatures as well.

Spicy rice

It is impossible to imagine a more fragrant and aromatic rice than this. We don't know how it is with you, but at the mention of pistachios, raisins, ginger, orange juice and other ingredients of this dish, we simply go wild with desire, for food of course.
