Easter carp eggs with wax
I will share with you the skill of combining eggs in the traditional way - with wax and saralji, and I will also reveal to you the art of removing paint from a scrambled egg ...
Preparation steps
- Add salt to the water and bring to a boil. Dissolve the red cloth bag in a little warm water and add to the water. Carefully lower the egg with a spoon and cook on low heat for about 10 minutes, so that it absorbs the color nicely. Remove and leave to cool, but not to be completely cold, because it is easier to sara on a hot egg (the wax melts on it more easily and sara is quicker and easier to pull).
- Darken the wax on the flame of the candle (it is said to `make` wax), so that the ball of wax (must be pure beeswax) flattens a little, puts it on the quill feather and turns it a little on one side, a little on the other, occasionally removing it from the flame, to does not drip. Repeat the process until the wax is completely black. I have the same saraljica for years, and it is made of a fountain pen - a pen (so-called pen), which is inserted into a split wooden stick, 12-15 cm long (that it is convenient to hold in your hand). When the feather is inserted into the split, it is wrapped crosswise with a thicker thread, so that it is firm and does not move. During mating, the thread is soaked in wax and strengthens the place where the feathers are pinched. The scorched warm wax is placed on the nail of the left thumb (for those who write with the right hand), pressed a little, and as soon as it cools, a ball of wax is fixed on the nail. Very little wax is taken from the tip of the pen and brought to the flame of the candle (which must be of a smaller height, up to 15 cm, not to be transferred from a great height, because the wax cools quickly and the patterns cannot be drawn), and then they draw sarees on the egg. Tip: eggs must be at room temperature, if they are cold, they sweat and the sare is heavier, because the wax cools down quickly with its temperature. The process of shitting seems impossible at first, until the movements of capturing the wax, offering the candle flame and bringing the feathers to the egg are practiced a little, until the hand is released, and then you cannot stop and dream of shitting. Another tip: the pen with the affected wax should not be kept on the flame for a long time, because the wax burns, so the dashes cannot be drawn, because in fact, there is no more wax on the pen.
- Vinegar corrodes the paint, which is outside the wax, and the color under the wax saree cannot corrode. When the color is erased, remove over a larger piece of paper - scrape with a razor blade each line of wax sara, when the beautiful white sara in the color in which the egg was originally painted will appear on the white egg again. For shine, coat the eggs with a grease cloth. I hope that this photo shows the effort invested.
- The classic laying of eggs is in the reverse process - first they are painted with wax unpainted and uncooked eggs, then painted in the desired color, after removing from the paint, a little cool, but while they are still warm, remove the wax from them with a cotton cloth, then another clean , and then coat with a third cloth, dipped in grease or oil, to get a shine.
