Dry apple cake (fasting)
Easy to make, cheap and above all delicious cake. I make it beyond fasting, and M.M. also adores it. who otherwise doesn’t like a lot of apples. :)
Preparation steps
- Mix flour, semolina, pretzels, baking powder and 200g of sugar and divide the mixture into 3 parts (I usually flatten the whole mixture in a wangla and draw a "mercedes" sign on top :)).
- Grate the apples (if their peel is very thick, then they do not need to be peeled), add the rest of the sugar (250g) and cinnamon, then stir. If desired, chopped walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, etc. can be added, although it is not necessary.
- Grease the baking tray (the square one that comes with the stove) with a little margarine.
- Arrange one third of the flour / semolina / breadcrumb / sugar mixture on a baking sheet. Put half of the apple mixture over this layer (spread evenly with the tip of a fork). Then flour again, then apples, then flour and grated margarine on top. (It's best to keep the margarine in the freezer for a while to make it easier to grate.)
- Bake at 180C for about an hour.
Serving
Cut into bars. It can be served as soon as it cools down, although it is nicer if it stays overnight.
