Drunk plum jam

Although drunk, this mrlmelada is very fine, it tastes good in the morning as a fine spread on fresh pastries, or as an addition to various cookies.

Preparation steps

  • Peel a squash, grate it and put it in a large bowl. Cook over high heat, when it boils, cook for another 30 minutes (until soft). Remove from the heat and use a stick mixer to grind them well, then add the sugar back to the stovetop and continue to cook over a high heat, taking care not to burn. After 2, 5 hours to 3 hours when the marmalade thickens well (you know it's done when the top of the spoon you are mixing starts to drop two drops at a time) add rum, cinnamon and vanilla, boil a little more to evaporate the alcohol and pour the marmalade into hot jars which you will put in a bowl with hot water and put all together for 2 minutes in a warm oven to catch the crust on top of the marmalade, remove the marmalade from the oven, pour half a teaspoon of rum into each jar and close. When the marmalade cools you can enjoy its smell and taste.

Serving

Rum is added to this marmalade because of the taste, and also to reduce perishability. Alcohol evaporates during cooking and only smells remain, so your little ones can also enjoy this marmalade.
