Dam cake

So far the best birthday cake for my daughter's first birthday made with ready crusts…

Preparation steps

  • Cook the pudding from the milk, flour and sugar and add the chocolate to the hot and stir occasionally while it cools
  • Add margarine to the cooled cream and make
  • Cut cake crusts in the shape of a creeper so that each one is smaller than the previous one.
  • Spread the cream between the crusts and when the rest of the cream is done, shiver.
  • Leave in the fridge to cool for about 10 minutes, then pour the icing over the whole cake.
  • While the glaze hasn’t quite cooled yet decorate with Mikado sticks so it looks like a lake of thorns
  • Roll out a little white marzipan for the snout
  • nose and eyes made of chocolate raisins
  • Paint the rest of the marzipan and make mushrooms and flowers

Serving

I always use marzipan to decorate children's cakes, it is easy to shape and is available. If you want to color the marzipan, use edible powder paints, so the consistency of the marzipan does not change. My experience is that with liquid colors, marzipan becomes milky and softer and difficult to shape. Macipan can go on glaze, whipped cream or whipped sweet cream, creams melt it. So I completely covered the cake with chocolate icing.
