Croatian-Japanese combination ... veggie delicacies, at least for me!
You’ve probably already noticed that I love the combination of oriental and homemade ingredients in a variety of dishes. This time I present you a simple but very fine, nutritious and healthy dish ... of only three foods. Two Croatian (leeks and oats) and one Japanese (arame algae). I often use Arame seaweed in combination with root vegetables or seeds and sprouts, or just as an addition to salads. This time, in a completely different way.
Preparation steps
- Soak the Arame seaweed and cook according to the instructions on the package. At the same time put to boil oats. It cooks much shorter than other cereals. It is enough to leave it covered for about twenty minutes and a few more minutes. While the seaweed and oats are cooking, chop the young leeks into very small pieces. Slice the white and green part. In a hot wok, sauté the leeks briefly in a little butter and olive oil. Season it with soy sauce, Asian wok spices, turmeric and squeeze some fresh ginger juice.
- Cover the wok and let stand for at least five minutes. Stir boiled oats and drained boiled seaweed into the wok, stir gently ..... and the feast can begin !!!
Serving
This delicious dish of only three ingredients was the main dish for me, with a little rich salad of endive, red radish, red and yellow peppers, spring onions and carrots cut into strips with a potato peeler.
