Chocolate Strawberry Mousse Cake
This recipe is actually a combination of two different recipes… .only this time in my performance… In this case I reduced the recipe because this was just for the two of us..while I will enter full measures here… I have this dessert in the book Chocolate, but the crust is was too complicated and the process took a long time and I needed something fast so I put one of the biscuits from my notebook and I kept the mousse as in the original recipe .. Enjoy….
Preparation steps
- Preheat oven to 175 * C and prepare a square mold. In a deep bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, cocoa and baking soda.
- Add eggs, milk and vanilla and mix for 2-3 minutes. Add boiling water last. The mixture will be a little thin but it should be so. . pour into the prepared mold and bake for about 30-40 minutes or until the toothpick comes out of the center clean. Cool in the mold for 10 minutes, then place it on a wire rack to cool completely.
- Mix the egg whites into the snow and only then add the sugar gradually until you get a firm foam.
- Mix the sweet cream into a firm icing. Using a large spoon, lightly mix the strawberry puree into the cream. Add the melted gelatin. Lightly mix the egg whites into the mixture.
- Cut with a round mold or large cup circles. If you do not have deep round molds, you can make them from foil or a little harder cardboard.
- At the bottom of the mold, place one roll of biscuit and chopped or whole strawberries on it. Sprinkle one layer of cream over the strawberries, then put another layer of biscuit and then another layer of cream. Smooth the last layer of cream and leave it in the freezer for at least 1½h.
- Melt the jelly and smooth it a bit, then sprinkle on top of the cake. Leave for at least another 30 minutes to take care of. Remove the stake from the mold, decorate with strawberries and serve.
