Cakes with Coconut or Šubarica

There are a lot of recipes for šubarice here, about 60 .. every housewife in tekke certainly has her own recipe, and mine is on the page where they are all stained and faded. My kids adore them, I had this recipe, so I lost it, now I’ve found it again and here it is in front of you. It is very easy to make, I like it, because it always succeeds and always gives a nice biscuit, which is soft and does not crumble, and the vanilla cream tastes great. The measures are not given in decagrams, as you are used to from me, but in decilitres, it is made with a glass of yogurt, with a volume of 2 dl.

Preparation steps

  • Sift through a sieve flour, cocoa and baking powder. Grease and flour a 30x30 cm baking tray, this is the black one from the oven. Preheat the oven to 180 ° C.
  • Mix the eggs with the sugar until they become frothy, add the sifted flour, then the milk and oil.
  • Pour into the prepared baking tray and bake at 180 ° C until the dough begins to separate slightly from the walls of the baking tray, or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean. In time, it's about 25 minutes.
  • For the cream, boil vanilla sugar in milk, cook with flour and it's like cooking pudding. Cool.
  • Mix the butter with the sugar and when it foams, add the prepared cream.
  • Cut the biscuit into circles, cut them in half and fill with cream. Smear them on the side.
  • Now turn them sideways and roll in coconut on the side.
  • Glaze them on top with chocolate, which you melted with a little oil.

Serving

Crush the remains of the biscuit and make balls or some other cake from them. The cake can also be made with margarine. The pictures are made from my recipe
