Bullari with vanilla cream
As you already know, bullari (balls) are the most consumed Swedish cakes. These are stuffed with vanilla cream, I found one recipe but I simplified it a bit, I love simple and good recipes.
Preparation steps
- ) Crumble the yeast in warm milk, let it rise, add the melted butter
- ) Add sugar and possibly cardamom, slowly add flour and mix
- ) Knead a smooth dough and let it rise, so 30 min
- ) Shake the dough on the base and divide it into 2 parts
- ) Roll into long rolls and divide into balls of equal size, not too small (sake size approx.) Dough and prepare
- ) Arrange on a greased baking sheet and let rest for 15 min
- ) Make indentations in each and fill with vanilla cream filling
- ) Coat with beaten egg (not cream) and leave for another 10 min. during this time, preheat the oven to 225`C (or keep it hot)
- ) Bake them for 8-10 minutes, baked and hot, coat them with melted butter and sprinkle with plenty of sugar and let the baked bullari cool
Serving
I cook vanilla cream from sweet liquid cream and sugar with the addition of vanilla and at the end a little potato flour, it’s here as a thickener. But it has good instant creams so I use it often
