Blackberry vinegar
The proposal for the preparation of this fruit vinegar is from a magazine with recipes for sweet and salty winter and much more. I haven't made it yet, so I said to try it when I have a lot of blackberries this year.
Preparation steps
- Clean the blackberries from the stalks, wash and dry them, put them in a bowl, mash them a little with a fork, and squeeze. Add the alcoholic vinegar, and let it stand covered for 6 days in a cool place, stirring every day.
- After 6 days have passed, strain the mixture through gauze. I got about 7 dl of juice or liquid. Add sugar to the resulting liquid and cook on a very low heat for about 10 minutes. Remove the foam from the top and allow to cool.
- Divide the resulting vinegar into glass bottles, close them and keep in a cool place.
- Vinegar usually comes mainly in plastic bottles, which are not the most suitable for storing it, glass ones are much better. As well as for storing other liquids and food, but now it is mostly plastic that prevails.
Serving
You can use it to season various salads, but also to marinate meat ....
