Birjan with chicken

I have to admit I have heard of this dish but have never tried it. I was interested in what it would look like and whether we would like it, so I had to make it. There is a little more work because the chicken and rice are cooked first, then everything is fried and finally baked in the oven. The dish is a combination of pilaf and potatoes and we liked it. The most important thing is that the meat is well cooked and that everything is well baked in the oven.

Preparation steps

  • Boil the chicken and chop finely. Fry the onion and carrot in oil, then add the chicken and sweet pepper. Put the potatoes cut into rings, then season everything and pour water to soak. Simmer until the potatoes are soft. Finally, add the cooked rice, stir gently and bake in the oven. Birjan can be eaten both cold and warm. It goes well with sour cream or hot peppers.
