Banana tarte Tatin - Jamie Oliver

Dessert is a simple and quick preparation, which you can serve to your guests and family when they want something sweet.

Preparation steps

  • Put the sugar in a mold (19 x 30 cm) on the fire to melt. When you see the sugar melting at the ends, add butter, grated orange peel, cinnamon and mix everything. Leave on the fire for the sugar to caramelize with occasional stirring. Meanwhile, peel the bananas and cut lengthwise. Arrange the bananas on the caramel, turning them so that one is facing down and the next up. Divide the puff pastry to be larger than the mold, because the dough needs to be "squeezed" a little on the side. Cover the bananas with the dough, press the ends with a wooden spoon to the bottom of the mold, stab them in a few places with a knife and put the oven in a preheated oven at 180 ° C for about 15-30 minutes.
  • Leave the finished tartin for about 3 minutes, in a mold, and then carefully turn it over on a wooden tray or a tray on which you will cut a stake. While the sugar is caramelizing and as you arrange the bananas and dough over, take care not to burn yourself.
  • If you want to serve this dessert to your guests, it is not necessary to prepare everything while they are there. Caramelize the sugar before they come and leave in the mold to cool. Just before baking, arrange the bananas over and cover with batter. I bought an almost torn leaf, it was so easy. This way guests can enjoy a fresh and warm dessert. Because that's how it tastes best.
