Baked chicory!
A very unusual dish, with a little effort, you will surely surprise the guests at the table! Soft and fine, the unusual taste, as a side dish to some main dishes, is sure to delight you! The recipe is all the way to the left in the picture in a clear refractory bowl. :)
Preparation steps
- grease well a square-shaped refractory dish, the size as in the picture, and cover the bottom with bread as follows: take the toast and cut it in half so that you get 2 halves; the reason for such cutting is to more easily arrange in a refractory container; so fill the bottom of your bowl with toast (when you cut you get two triangles of bread, arrange it all along the bottom of the fireproof dish)
- cut the chicory into sticks; chop onion, garlic and parsley; saute the chopped spices and onions in a pan with the rest of the butter and oil; add the chicory and simmer for about 10 minutes
- switch to a refractory bowl: after mixing the cheeses, sprinkle them over the bread that is in the refractory dish, but only half of the cheese mixture; then put a uniform mixture of chicory and only then the rest of the cheese
- in a separate bowl, whisk together the egg and milk, add a little salt and a little grated nutmeg; pour this over the mixture in a fireproof dish
- push the refractory bowl into the oven at 200 degrees for 30 minutes; remove from oven when yellowed
