Apple and coffee jam
Coffee and jam? can !, But… ... coffee in marmalade ?, marmalade with coffee? ....., hmmmmmm, I didn't really come across that, ......., can I? I can !! And not in one but in two versions at once, vanilla or rum, maybe both! :))
Preparation steps
- Peeled and peeled apples cut into cubes and cook until soft, about 20 minutes after boiling. Cool the cooked apples and chop them, best in a blender to get something like apple puree. In a cooking pot, mix apple puree and 1-1, 5 dcl of water in which the apples were cooked. Add the juice of 1 lemon and the juice of one orange, add sugar. Stir everything well and put on a high heat to boil. Strain the brewed black coffee and add to the mixture. Stir it and continue to cook on a slightly lower heat for about 20-30 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Now you need to decide whether to make a variant with rum or a variant with vanilla. If you are going to work with vanilla, add it to the mixture and continue to cook for another 10 minutes, stirring constantly. Then add the jelly mixed with 1-2 teaspoons of sugar, mix it well, bring to a boil again and cook for another 3 minutes, stirring constantly. The jam is ready, pour it into clean and heated jars, close and let cool.
- If you are going to work with rum, then after 20-30 minutes of cooking, add jelly mixed with 1-2 teaspoons of sugar to the mixture, mix it well, bring it to a boil again and cook for another 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Then add the rum, stir it on the fire for about 20-30 seconds, remove from the heat and stir for another half minute. The jam is ready, pour it into clean and heated jars, close and let cool.
Serving
These marmalades are not so tasty if you eat them on bread, but they are made for pancakes, cakes, for example as a filling for a roll, ...., they will surely find their place there. Unless you decide on the option of taking a teaspoon like me this morning and taking the first morning caffeine dose in a couple of sweet snacks through this scent and aroma :)
