A basic recipe for bread
There is no better thing than homemade bread. Believe me, it’s a lot simpler than you think. When it snows and you can't get to the bakery, it's best to make your own bread.
Preparation steps
- Mix both types of flour, add salt and sugar, yeast, then water and olive oil, and finally the addition you want of the type: chopped sun-dried tomatoes, olives or caramelized onions. I mix in the kitchen aid, 3 min slowly and 4 min fast, so that the gluten is released and the flours combine well.
- Place the kneaded dough in a warm place, covered with a cloth, to rise for about 45 min / 1 hour, until it becomes quite double.
- Stir with your hands and form a loaf, put in a baking sheet to rise, again warm: I put near the radiator, but not on it, it's too hot for the yeast. Yeast works at temperatures up to + 40C. Put to rise for another half hour.
- Spread with egg yolk mixed with a little water and salt, sprinkle with coarse salt as desired and put in the oven in a Teflon tin or plain greased with oil and flour, at 180 C (ovens with air 160C) at approx. 45 min, doc
